Default Monk Threat

Is it possible to reduce how my monk is targeted by NPCs? They seem to charge past the rest of my party and attack me as a primary target, sometimes killing me over and over again. How do I reduce the threat of my monk so the NPCs are no longer drawn to me first?

I sometimes just sit in the back and even hit the aggro bubble on the enimies until the others have drawn aggro, but I don't use my monk anymore for much more than just farming. That is how I did it though.

dunno if it's true but it fits my experience, mobs go for the target with the lowest current hp/max hp(not sure which one). My monk has a bit over 600 hp and he never gets attacked in pve where nearly everyone has a superior rune and lower hp than me. Dunno if it's just chance or fact...

Deny/Confirm anyone?

it is true and i belive its max hp, other wise with AoE u could end up with a lot of target change, so to get high hap, only take 1 sup or 1 major never any more and have atleast a major vig, u should have about 520-530hp + get hp armor with +30hp mods , it keeps u safe :P

Use a(n) axe/sword/spear instead of a wand/staff and they will not bother you as much. You can test it by farming Shiroken at Unwaking Waters (explorable) with and without a caster weapon. If you have a wand/staff, ninjas will put Shroud of Silence on you.

I'd have to say that HP has an effect on targeting proirity - When I monk in PvE, I run only minors, verging on 600 health. The enemies would much rather feast on the retarded ele using a superior Energy Storage rune

You did not specify what lvl you are so I am guessing that you are a low lvl with low health points. Then you are wearing low lvl armour say pre lvl or around there.I would recommend a rune of vigor or vitae and get some better armour. That is if they at attacking you instead of the henchies.

Default Threat Level

To the AI monk primary chars are the highest priority target. The next is necro. For some reason it is tank next and then ele.

The test was to take one char and three heroes. W/Mo was the player based char. Then we had Dunkoro, Olias and Sousuke. the warrior took the aggro and when the monk came close the AI switched targets. It perceives the monk class (Mo/*) as the very highest threat level. Once the monk was down they went for the necro. After that the tank. The AI does not perceive the ele as a high threat at all.

The next test was W/Mo player based char, Sousuke as ele, Olias and Zhed as E/Mo (all monk skills). The AI went right for the necro. After that they locked on the warrior and didn't go after the eles.

Unfortunately it comes with the territory

It is the other way around the AI targets the Ele first as it is the main threat.I have seen this a lot with Orion being targeted first in North Kryta then on to Alesia and the rest of the castors and the Warrior are last.

This maybe so ith your heros but who know what you have done to them. You might have given them a superior or a major rune of some kind.

It is always the Ele why take a guess what do they do and then on to the Monk as Eles hardley kite and Monks do as well as the rest of the castors.Warriors having the highest AL rating are saved for last.

I have seen Alesia kite on several occasions than Orion he just stands there throwing down firestorm.
